More recently, another new trend has emerged: a taste for luxury tea leaves, both in supermarkets and in tea salons. The Tea Republic (ttr.com.my), a tiny shop dedicated to fine teas and the culture of tea enjoyment, holds court in Bangsar.”

Firstly, this is a very interesting place to sit down, relax and talk over tea. It’s setting is comfortable, beautiful, and calming.

Secondly, their tea selection is quite extensive. I’m no tea expert, but I do like to explore new things. Can’t remember exactly what kind of tea I had, but I was thoroughly satisfied, even if the price a little on the high side. “

Inviting you to “Celebrate The Citeazen Within”, Tea Republic is devoted solely to people who love to drink tea. In fact, no coffee is served here at all. Instead, a wide variety of imported premium teas are offered along with home-made cakes and healthy meals. Some of their specialities include Victoria Sandwich, Croissant Sandwich, Khoubiz Bread with Dips and Moist Chocolate Cake.

With its bright and cheerful decor, this is a quiet place to sit back and enjoy your cuppa. In addition, tea tastings are held every month, and new teas are introduced every 2-3 months. Tea Republic is also the sole distributor of Stick Tea, a pre-packed infuser filled with top quality teas.”

The Tea Republic (TTR) first made waves as a pioneer of the tea lounge community in Kuala Lumpur. Now, TTR is combining the comforts of tea and art with the introduction of a creative painting space at its outlet.

Labelled ARTeas, the canvas painting area is meant for patrons to gather with family and friends, where they can relax and indulge in a ‘tea-rapeutic’ painting session.

Each ARTeas session costs RM60 nett per person. This includes a blank 12″x12″ canvas to take home after the painting session, painting materials like acrylic paint and brushes plus a RM10 discount off a customer’s food and beverage bill at TTR.

For more information or to make a reservation, call 03-20111320 or visit www.facebook.com/arteas.malaysia. TTR is open daily from 9am to 9pm.”
